Sizing Tip: EQ3 – this helmet is designed for head shapes that are more ‘ROUND’ in nature, versus ‘OBLONG’. When purchasing an EQ3, we suggest measuring your head, then refer to the size chart and order one size up. For example, a 56cm head measurement would look to purchase a 57cm helmet.

The EQ3 helmet I purchased directly from BoT, at 40% off, was itself great. However, in spite of measuring my head (twice) for sizing and having a Charles Owen helmet that is the same size I ordered from BoT (6 7/8), the helmet did not fit. It was just a bit too snug. I immediately called BoT to find out I could not return it or exchange it. I didn’t realize and did not notice when ordering the helmet online, that there was a “No Return, No Exchange” policy on the sale. The policy may have more to do with the item being safety equipment rather than a sale item. Now I’m left with a helmet that I must sell privately. BoT could have at least let me exchange it for the correct size but would not. I will recommend against purchasing directly from BoT to my friends. New golden rule ; Go to a local store that assists you in purchasing the correct size.

As a note about our Helmets.
The EQ3 does tend to fit a ’rounder’ head better.
The LYNX (which we are getting more stock in of) tend to fit an ‘Oval’ head better.
This helmet has the ‘dial’ on the back of the Helmet.
Perhaps this could be a contributing factor to the issue you experienced Julia.

I was worried about the sizing—with Covid I can’t try anything on at my local tack shop and there were no returns on helmets for the online ordering. Followed the instructions in the linked video and it was pretty easy and helmet fits perfectly. Even though it is quite thick it isn’t heavy or at all uncomfortable.
excellent, fit is important!
My only comment is I wish the straps around the ears were a bit smaller, not in width but in overall size as they come down really low to the chin. It’s much lighter than I expected and very comfortable. I’m interested to see how it works once it’s much warmer out too.

Love knowing I’m more protected with MIPS technology as I’ve had a bad concussion in the past, and love that the liner comes out so easily to wash. It’s my favourite helmet – so much so that I now own three!
