We recommend an introduction time of 2-4 hours/day for the first 3-5 days to get the body used to the effects, but the length of introduction can vary between individuals. Use your judgment to determine when ready for longer use. For the best results, after the introduction time, use the products for longer periods of time daily – such as overnight. Every 3-4 weeks we recommend not using the products for 3-6 days. The period of discontinued use is for you to assess/reassess the progress of your horse or dog and even yourself. Products may be worn for a period of 1-24 hours a day after the introductory period. For use with dogs and horses, we recommend removing our products for 3-4 hours a day to give the animal a break from the effects.

Yes. We do recommend using the products in the cooler parts of the day and for shorter periods of time during the warmer summer months, however, this is your personal preference. Use your best judgement when using our products on your animals on a hot day. Using them for smaller amounts of time throughout the day is better than not using them at all.

Depending on how long it has not been used, it may be necessary to start the introductory period again. Use common sense and see how your body feels and reacts.

The effectiveness of BOT products will not change over time since you cannot wash out the Welltex® fibers infused in the threads. If you have been using our products for a long period of time and feel you don’t see the same results as you did at the beginning, simply take a break for a week and try again. While using our products over time you may get used to the Welltex® effect and start to think you are no longer being helped.

The improved blood circulation from the use of BOT products will help to maintain the over-all well-being of the body tissues, even in health. It may also help prevent injuries in the future by improving over-all resilience of the body.

Take a break from wearing the product until the swelling goes down, then begin using it again. Wear it for only a few hours to minimize the chance of swelling again until the body gets used to the increased blood circulation from wearing the product.

The Welltex material utilizes the body’s own energy and reflects that energy back into the tissues as far-infrared wavelengths which penetrate deeper than just warmth to affect the tissues and the blood vessels, whereas products with magnet technology utilize the magnetic field.

Machine wash in warm water and a mild detergent. Do not use fabric softener or bleach. Hang to dry.

No, providing you follow the washing instructions that come with each product. Products are not to be put into a clothes dryer and bleach should not be used in the washing process.

Caution is advised when using Welltex® products simultaneously with liniment, since some liniments may amplify the Welltex® effect. Use the product only as directed and consult a doctor if symptoms persist. Do not use products that will generate heat. Use your own common sense to see how you or your animal reacts.

Back on Track brace products provide limited support. They are designed as therapeutic products that increase blood circulation and in turn may help reduce inflammation in muscles and joints. Our self fastening Knee Brace and Back Braces provide more support than our other therapeutic brace products, but they should not be used to replace physician prescribed support braces.

BOT products need to be next to the skin or hair of animals for the product to give the best effect. However, the Back Brace can be worn over a thin shirt and the Mattress Overlay should be used under regular sheets.

Welltex® products have been developed for Humans, Horses, and Dogs. The bio ceramic fused into Welltex® product thread results in the fabric’s ability to reflect body infrared heat waves back into the originating body. The result is an increase in blood circulation and oxygen delivery often resulting in pain reduction.

Welltex® functional fabric utilizes the body’s own energy (heat signature). When a Welltex® product is worn against the skin it radiates body energy back as a far-infrared wavelength. That far-infrared wavelength energy penetrates several centimeters into the body’s tissues. The incoming energy triggers a message in the brain that results in micro dilation of blood vessels and the release of nitric oxide. When manufacturing the polyester and polypropylene fibers that Back on Track products are made of, ceramic particles are fused into the textile fibers through a Nano technology heat process. The selection of these ceramic particles is based on which absorption and emission spectrum they contain. The result is that when the ceramic particles absorb the body’s energy radiation, they expel energy of a specific wavelength, which is based in the long-wave infrared zone of the thermal radiation spectrum. It is well established and documented that long-wave infrared heat radiation has a pain reducing effect and increases blood circulation.

MIPS stands for Multi-directional Impact Protection System, which is a leading slip-plane technology inside the helmet designed to reduce rotational motion transferred to the brain from angled impacts to the head. The MIPS layer is coated in a low-friction ink that improves its ability to slide relative to the EPS. This layer creates a way for the rotational force to be absorbed and redirected rather than transmitted to the brain during an impact. It’s held in place with flexible bands that clip the MIPS liner to the helmet’s foam in multiple anchor points. The system sounds simple, but in reality, this technology was developed and tested over countless years in a lab. When riding accidents happen, two main types of force – linear and rotational – occur. Most impacts to the head are a combination of both. MIPS helps to combat the rotational impact in these types of accidents. The rotational motion is a combination of rotational energy (angular velocity) and rotational forces (from angular acceleration) that both affects the brain and increases the risk for minor and severe brain injuries. Linear hits are direct, centered, frontal hits that push the head straight backwards.

The Back on Track EQ3 helmet is the first riding helmet to contain Multi-Directional Impact Protection System technology which has been tested over countless years and is proven to offer better protection against rotational motion than a helmet without MIPS. Since 1996, research and tests have been performed to compare a helmet with the MIPS Brain Protection System to a conventional helmet. The results showed that it was possible to redirect and reduce the rotational motion transmitted to the brain by adding the MIPS Brain Protection System.

Your helmet should be kept in a temperature-controlled environment when not being used. Extreme temperatures as well as fluctuating temperatures can be detrimental to the integrity of the shock-absorbing materials within the helmet. The inner Coolmax lining of your helmet can be removed and hand washed if needed. The smooth shell helmet may be wiped down with a wet cloth and the microfiber shell helmet can be spot cleaned with warm water and a damp cloth. You should never clean your helmet with any alcohol-based liquid, as this will damage the helmets. Allow it to air dry in an open area, and store in a cool, dry place when it’s not in use. Do not tamper with or remove the MIPS low friction layer by any means.

Yes, you can use any products that do not contain alcohol on your helmet.

The Back on Track EQ3 fits a round head with the liner that is included in the helmet. Back on Track does make an oval liner which is plusher on the sides than in the front and back to help fit a more oval-shaped head.

It is recommended to replace any ASTM/SEI certified riding helmet within 5 years. A helmet should also be replaced after a fall.

Most of the Back on Track T-shirts and Long-Sleeved shirts are unisex. The V-Neck shirts are form fitting for women; the boxer shorts and long johns are styled specifically for men and women. None of the Back on Track Performance Wear Collection is unisex in sizing.

The double layer back brace has an extra inner layer of adjustable Velcro and adds more support than the regular back brace. For the double layer back brace, go up 1 size from the regular back brace.

The boxers should be a comfortable fit, not tight or too snug.

They are ½” thick and placed under your regular sheets.

Men’s are by waist measurement, but Women’s are based on general pants sizing.

The size is based on waist measurements. Small: 26″ – 32″; Medium: 33″ – 38″; Large: 39″ – 44″; XL: 45″ – 57″.

The size is based on shoe size: Small: 7; Medium: 7½ – 9; Large 9½ – 12; XL: 12 and up. Keep the bone structure in mind. If you are smaller boned, go down in size.

Measure the circumference of the calf about 2″ below the knee for the top measurement and about 2″ above the ankle for the bottom. Length is how long the brace is from top to bottom.

Measure around the thigh about 5½” – 6″ above the center of the patella (knee cap).

Measure arm’s circumference 3″ above the bend of the elbow.

Measure the circumference of the wrist. Small: less than 6″; Medium: 6″ – 6½”; Large: 7″ – 7½”; XL: over 7½”.

Sizes are comparable to other standard glove sizes.

Measure length from middle finger to bottom of hand/top of wrist. Width is the circumference of knuckles at the base of the fingers. Then refer to the size chart. Maybe one size larger than you would normally wear in a regular glove since the gloves tend to run small.

Measure the circumference of the neck. Small: 14″; Medium: 15″; Large: 17″; XL: 18″.

Most Back on Track products are meant for stall use. The only products recommended for turnout (exercise) are the saddle pads, exercise boots, polo wraps and exercise sheets.

The only product we have for the stifle area would be the mesh sheet or fleece blanket.

No Bows are a denser fabric with a foam inside. The No Bows leg wraps need to be held in place with a standing wrap (not included). The Quick Wraps have an inner pillow wrap with a neoprene outer layer that attaches with Velcro straps. No standing wrap is needed. Both wraps work in the same way, so whichever wrap one chooses is personal preference.

The mesh sheet is a full-fitting sheet with gussets and can be used year-round. The fleece blanket is normally used after exercising for wicking purposes. Any other sheet can be used over these provided the Back on Track sheet is next to the horses’ body.

Measure the length of the cannon bone – below the knee to the fetlock.

The size of the neck cover will be the same as the blanket size.

They come in two sizes – small and med-large. Most horses will wear the M-L. The head cap is slightly ‘stretchy’.

That would depend on the size of the cannon bone and how you prefer to wrap.

The small bell boots are 4” high; medium is 4¼” high; and the large are 4½” high. They do tend to run big.

Measure around the center of the hock… 15″ would be small; 16” would be medium; and 17” would be large and in the Padded Royal Hock Boot 19″ would be XLarge. Typically, an Arabian would wear a small; a Quarter horse would wear a medium; and Warmbloods would wear a large. There are exceptions: if a Thoroughbred is slender like a Quarter horse.

Measure around the center of the knee. 12” would be small; 13¼” would be medium; and 13½” would be large and 14½” would be XLarge. A/P SADDLE PAD (English): 23” spine; 19” drop.
DRESSAGE: 22” spine; 21” drop.
WESTERN: 31” in length. Slightly contoured. Drop for 1 side: 18” at wither; 16” at center; 17½” at back. Because it is only ⅛” thick, it is used as a liner under another saddle pad.

The mesh is not an open weave. It can be worn year-round and in the house. The regular is a heavier blanket and more for cooler or damp weather.

With a cloth tape measure and the dog standing at a neutral position, measure the length from the middle of where the collar would be to the base of the dog’s tail. If there is a question on which size to go with, go smaller rather than bigger.

Take a circumference measurement around the dog’s leg above the paw and refer to the size chart on the product page to determine what size would best fit. NOTE: Our small size is NOT for the smallest of breeds.

The first measurement listed is the length along the non-Velcro side of the wrap when it is closed. The second measurement is the circumference at the top of the wrap. The third measurement is the circumference at the bottom of the wrap. Measure the circumference of the dog’s leg above and below the point of the hock roughly 2” – 3”, depending on what size you may need. Refer to the size chart. The circumference measurement will help determine what size you will need.
