Tyler Kraft is a professional rodeo pickup man and Ranch & Stock Operations Manager for the Calgary Stampede, competing and leading at the highest levels of North American rodeo. Known for his steady presence in the arena and disciplined horsemanship, Tyler balances elite performance with operational leadership behind the scenes at one of the world’s most recognized rodeo organizations.
Based at the Calgary Stampede Ranch, Tyler oversees livestock development and daily ranch operations while continuing to work as an active pickup man at PRCA and Canadian rodeo events.
The Calgary Stampede is one of the most prestigious rodeo events in the world, and Tyler plays a key role in maintaining its competitive standard year-round. As Ranch & Stock Operations Manager, he is responsible for breeding, conditioning, and preparing high-performance livestock for major events.
In the arena, Tyler’s work as a professional rodeo pickup man requires precision timing, athletic horses, and split-second decision-making. That dual responsibility — leadership off horseback and execution in the arena — defines his career.
Beyond rodeo, Tyler is also a devoted husband and father. Family remains central to his life and work, grounding the long travel schedules and demanding seasons that come with professional rodeo. The values of discipline, responsibility, and preparation extend from the ranch to the arena and back home.
Tyler’s standout gelding Baby Hes Hot has earned the title of two-time PRCA Pickup Horse of the Year, winning the inaugural award in 2023 and again in 2025. This distinction places Baby among the most accomplished pickup horses in professional rodeo.
Together, they have worked elite events including the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo (NFR) and major rodeos across North America. Developing and maintaining a horse at this level requires year-round conditioning, careful management, and consistent recovery.
As both a professional rodeo athlete and ranch manager, Tyler understands the importance of durability and preparation.
