Gary Remplel

Even if he wasn’t credited with saving the day by quickly lassoing and subduing a renegade bull who charged spectators at the 2010 Canadian Finals Rodeo, Gary Rempel would still be a superstar. The world-renowned rodeo pickup man and Calgary Stampede stalwart has achieved more honours than you can shake a saddle at: most trips to the National Finals Rodeo (nine) since they began being selected by a vote of the cowboys in 1990 and only the second Canadian to serve as pickup man there. He’s also a lifetime member with the PRCA, CPRA and one of the most respected trainers in North America. He loves working with his brother, fellow pickup man Wade Rempel, and Gary Rempel loves Back on Track. “You wouldn’t send a hockey player out on the ice without proper protective equipment. It’s the same with pickup horses. You can’t predict what situation you’ll have in the arena but you can be prepared for just about anything. Back on Track keeps me and my horses going and keeps us feeling good.
